NG Group is "Climate Winner" for the second year in a row

PwC's annual Climate Index assesses the climate efforts and reporting of the 100 largest companies in Norway. Once again, NG Group has been placed in the top category and named a "Climate Winner."

This year's findings reveal that 35 out of 100 companies can show emissions reductions in their own operations and value chains, but only 18 of these are reducing in line with the Paris Agreement. These 18 companies have been recognized as "Climate Winners" by PwC’s Climate Index.

-It is extremely gratifying to see that long-term and structured efforts are making an impact. Being on the top list for the second year in a row is something we are proud of, says Group CSO Runa Opdal Kerr at NG Group.

NG Group has invested significantly in robust systems for data and reporting of emissions and other sustainability indicators. The reporting tool Engage was launched to customers earlier this year, and internally, the group now has full oversight of its own CO2 emissions.

-Reliable and transparent data is crucial, not only for us but also for customers who want visibility into emissions throughout the value chain, says Kerr.

Reducing own and customers’ emissions with a new fossil-free vehicle fleet

NG Group’s business model is based on circular solutions, which plays a crucial role in reducing CO2 emissions in society. The group challenges itself, its partners, and society to become more circular and reduce emissions. A key investment area is the renewal of the vehicle fleet. This year alone, NG Group is investing in 18 new fossil-free vehicles, and nearly 50% of the fleet will consist of fossil-free vehicles by the end of the year.

-This is an important contribution to our goal of zero emissions. A fossil-free vehicle fleet reduces both our own emissions and our customers' scope 3 emissions, says Kerr.
